7 minutes masterclass from Woz, cofounder of Apple on starting a startup
- it is fun since its an intimate affair
- it needs good business foundation - make sure someone to watch over your numbers and persuasive about the future
- needs strong engineering - its all about excellence these days
- needs strong marketing understanding - who are you, how do you present yourself to the world, is it solving problems that are worth much?
- get along with your co-founders and agree on strategies - minimize conflict
- read books that inspire you to learn more about problems from the perspective of a user, not a maker (fall in love with the problem, not your MvP - goes a common aphorism)
- startups are risky - there is no guarantee you will succeed, but start raising money with a good story - they have to relate to in real life - tell the story, tell it quickly, and tell it confidently
- as you learn market needs, keep adjusting your product market fit ( i like this perspective because Woz clearly points to this as a moving goal post, not a static point in your progress journey)
- be clear about who you are - dont weaken your values with your success
- think about what it means to think different - that is how you change the world.
